NAME

Module::Build::Debian - Module::Build extension to build .deb packages using "dh-make-perl".

VERSION

This document describes Module::Build::Debian version 1.0.0.

SYNOPSIS

# In your Module::Build subclass:

            # We use eval because we only want the feature if
            # Module::Build::Debian is actually installed.
            BEGIN {
                eval 'use Module::Build::Debian';
            }

        # Then, you can use Build.PL to create a debian package of the module: 
    
            $ perl Build.PL
    
            $ ./Build debian
    
            $ ./Build debianclean

DESCRIPTION

This is a "Module::Build" extension that simplifies building Debian .deb packages using "dh-make-perl". To use it, all you have to do is use the module in your Module::Build subclass.

Module::Build COMMANDS
"./Build debian"
Builds the a debian package of the module using "dh-make-perl". An error-message is printed If <dh-make-perl> is not installed.

"./Build debianclean"
Removes temporary-files and history files created by "dh-make-perl" after a "./Build debian".

"ACTION_debian()"
This is the method that is executed when you run "./Build debian".

"ACTION_debianclean()"
This is the method that is executed when you run "./Build debianclean".

DIAGNOSTICS
"Can't find dh-make-perl (%s): $s.""
Apparently, "dh-make-perl" is missing from your system.

You can install "dh-make-perl" with apt-get:

sudo apt-get install dh-make-perl

CONFIGURATION AND ENVIRONMENT
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
By default it fetches the author's name and e-mail address from the POD of the module, but you can also set name and email with the following environment variables:

"DEBFULLNAME"
The debian package author's full name.

"DEBEMAIL"
The debian package author's e-mail address.
