SYNOPSIS

  use UUID;
  UUID::generate($uuid); # generates a 128 bit uuid
  UUID::unparse($uuid, $string); # change $uuid to 36 byte string
  $rc = UUID::parse($string, $uuid); # map string to UUID, return -1 on error
